Item Think-Tank

So, I'm assuming we'll have a store (correct me if I'm wrong) where members can buy some items with game currency and some will be free/bought with something you don't have to pay real money for. Here's my idea, totally open for y'all's opinion.
In the store there will be the following categories:
-Food
-Armor and Wepons
-Hats and Wigs
-Clothes
-Acsessories
-Other
And each catagory will have a few subcategories.
-Food (doesn't need a subcategory)
-Armor and Weapons
•Armor
•Weapons
•Other (e.g. Shadow Boots)
-Hats and Wigs
•Hats
•Wigs
-Clothes
•Dresses
•Shirts
•Skirts
•Pants
•Sweaters
-Accessories
•Scarves
•Shoes
•Jewelry
•Other
-Other (whatever doesn't fit elsewhere)

So, what items should we have, do you like this layout, if you don't how should it be changed, how much should the items be ect.

I'm not sure about the clothing. Even though it's a great idea, we won't be able to code so that the items actually go on the animal's pictures right off.

We also need to figure out what the currency is going to be called. Bones? CC (Canis Currency?)

Yeah, I was thinking that about the clothes too.
Lets see, currency names...
I like the CC idea. But maybe not bones because its so obvious you know?
Golden Claws (weird much?)
Shadow Dust (you have 9 shadow dust...doesn't really work.)
Furs or Pelts (from hunting)
Rabbit Feet
Bear Claws
Fox Tails

Stuff like that? Yes? No? Maybe not?

Yeah, bones are really obvious. We don't want everything to be..cliche?

I like the CC idea as well, maybe 2K will like it too? Of course, I like the pelts idea too, could be a different currency or something they get some hunting? Might be to complicated though. We want the game to be centered around wolves but not to complicated you know? Maybe the pelts could be REALLY special currency that you have to buy , then you can buy the special items with like passes on howrse?? What do you think?

Yeah! So you can get CC by winning fights and stuff, and pelt by using real money! And you're right if its to complicated no one will join or it will never get done. I wonder how far along it is?

Fantastic idea!
Ok, so combining everyone's great ideas:
You can trade pelts in for CC, which you can also get by winning fights.
Moonstones are the 'buy with real money' currency, which you also get an allowance of if you have a Full Moon Account.
Is this what we're thinking?

Hmm. Some questions that need answering:

How many pups per litter? Will there be items to increase this number? Will we allow account sharing? Will there be a pound/shelter to adopt unwanted wolves? How many wolves are allowed on your account or is it unlimited? At what age do wolves die? At what age to they become breedable? Will they have a puppy picture or adult picture when they are born? Are we going to allow cross breeding and what/if the pictures would look like? Are we going to have levels of shows so that the lower wolves don't have to compete against the higher skilled wolves?

Just some things to think about. Very Happy lol

No, i think there should be a place for people to get rid of wolves, like 'release into wild/sanctuary' but i personally find pounds annoying .
Yes there should be a limit, or i think so, but it should be very reasonable.
Looks like in captivity they can live 16-20 years.
idk on breeding age, 2?

Yes, something along the lines of 1-4 sounds nice.

I personally like the pound idea, maybe we could have instead of a pound, they could release them into the wild and then people could go and adopt them? There's no need to get rid of perfectly good wolves. Or we could do it both ways, release into the wild permanently or release into the shelter/adoption den.

Hmmm. Beings these are wild wolves maybe they could live to be 25ish? We have to decide how much they age each day. It can't be 1 day=1 day or obviously no wolves would start dying off for 25 real years.

Q: How many pups per litter?
My Idea: One. This way there won't be tons of unwanted wolf pups.
Q: Will there be item(s) to increase this number?
MI: Yes, one should be fairly expensive with CC and the other fairly cheap with MS.
Q: Will we allow account sharing?
MI: That seems like a lot of extra coding for a new site, maybe it can be an upgrade if 2K wants?

MI: I'm going to assume 2K doesn't have massive servers running this thing with tons of storage room. A pound seems like it would take up a lot of memory. I'd say that can be an upgrade.

MI: I'd say maybe 20 for half moons and 50 for full moons.
Q: At what age do wolves die?
MI: 30? I don't know. We should have an item that can extend/unlimit life.
Q: At what age do they become breed able?
MI: How should I know? I don't know what the aging system is yet.

MI: Puppy.
Q: Are we going to allow cross breeding?
MI: I'd say that's up to 2K.
Q: Are we going to have levels of fights?
MI: I vote yes.

@hillybillypets Actually in the wild wolves only live to a max of like 10 years XD

Most of the time it seems pounds are filled with animals that no one wants, every thing else is sold by the player....idk...maybe you have had other experiences though ^^

On the howrse game I play 1 day=two months and horses die at age 30 unless you use special items to keep them alive or make them immortal, so we are right along those same lines.

In my experience with pounds yes some of the animals are unwanted/unusable but often when someone leaves the game they just chuck all their animals in the shelter and leave and really good animals can be had for next to nothing. But I guess for the sake of making easy coding it would be just as easy for people to sell them off cheap vs. putting them in a shelter.

I guess it would really be up to the coders. We should probably just try and work out the bare bones of the game and then later on we can add all of these extra things. Smile

I love the ideal of CC for regular currency and Moonstones for buying stuff with real money. I'm not sure how easy pelts would be to code in though, it might have to be something that gets added at a later date. Smile

I'm thinking right around 1-4 too.

Special items may be added to increase those numbers, but it might not be added right away, and the item would be a special item and be pretty rare.

By account sharing do you mean more then one person using one account or do you mean like the account sharing on howrse were you add someone to the list and it allows them limited access to your account so they can take care of your wolves? The first version of account sharing will not be allowed, I just don't like to idea of having two people sharing the same account. It would make modding the account an issue. As for the second one, I don't think that it would be easily codeable, so we probably won't do that. We might end up doing some kind of wolf-sitting system? It just depends on how hard it would be to code and if we add it, it would probably have to be added later on in the game, it just depends.

Yes, there will be a pound (though we might probably call it something differant). After a certain ammount of time in the pound, if the wolves don't get adopted, then they will be removed and (whatever we're going to call it..) die. Neutral This will help trim down unwanted wolves.

I'm thinking of making it unlimited.

Two years sounds good to me.

I am planning on having it to were they begin on a puppy picture and then once they reach a certain age (maybe two years that way it's the same age as breeding?) then the picture will change to the adult picture.

Cross breeding will be allowed, though it will be set like how howrse has it, to were the puppy/s are either one breed or the other. Creating all the differant wolf mixed breed pictures would become to complicated and would take to much time.

I'm hoping to have several differant levels of compitions.

About the items, for jewellery, maybe we can have amulets e.g. necklaces that boost your life, level, and combat/hunting skills?

That would be hard to make, they can't wish for anything. It's a good idea but maybe they could pick from multiple special special items only available in the genie's wish?

I have a few item ideas, if they have not been proposed yet.

*Antlers / Horns
*Companions (like Birds, Frogs, Rabbits...-could be found in the explore?!)
*Bones (can be worn in the mouth or other ...)

*Foregrounds (Stones, Grass, Leaf's...)

I will suggest more, if I get more ideas
